Leadership and Management Training
To shift not only employee mind-sets, but entrench new behaviours which are in line with where the organisation is heading strategically, we spend time conducting a in-depth needs analysis to understand where the skills and capability gaps are at various levels and within various departments in the organisation, as well as at the individual level. We also conduct research on other open enrollment (accredited and non-accredited courses) which are available in the market through local and international educational institutions and facilitate individual participant or group registrations on courses at the various educational institutions. We understand the complexities of running training and learning and development functions in-house and the added pressure of ensuring that learning experiences are impactful with measurable return on learning, aligned to the organisation's strategy, and delivered at the highest possible standards. We take the pressure off you having to design the best training solutions that meet business needs, source credible suppliers, manage the learner's entire learning experience, compare the multitude of courses available in the market to identify the best-suited ones, source reputable third-party suppliers and source and vet qualified subject matter experts to deliver the learning experiences.
Learning and Development Strategy
A learning and development strategy’s aim is to support the attainment of the organisations' strategic goals by upskilling and reskilling its employees. This should be done leveraging a well thought-through combination of targeted learning experiences for specific individuals based on their developmental needs, more general skills development for specific teams and departments based on their respective team mandates, and more broader based skills development across the entire organisational based on general competencies and capabilities that the organisation requires in order for it to sustain its competitive advantage. This entire learning and development strategy should be executed in line with the organisations competency framework and should be tightly aligned to the performance review process and personal development plans. We assist organisations align their learning and development function including their internal application and approval processes, educational institution and service provider partnerships selection, and their training monitoring and evaluation systems to their overall organisational goals and more specifically to their L&D strategy.
Corporate Training Academies
Over recent years there has been a major shift in how corporate L&D functions operate. Many large organisations have made the decision to bring their training functions fully/partially in-house by establishing internal academies and business schools to serve their business needs for upskilling and reskilling their staff complement. Partially driven by the cost of leveraging external training and education providers, and partially due to the fact that outsourcing what has become a critical source of an organisations competitive advantage i.e., well-trained and engaged employees, devolves control of such competitive advantage to third-parties when in fact, tighter alignment to strategic goals is what sets organisations apart and enables them to sustain their competitive advantage. We have extensive experience in helping organisations establish their internal training academies for both technical and non-technical/soft-skills training. We also advise clients on minimum operating requirements, legal requirements and registrations, standard operating procedures, technological enablement through appropriate learner management systems, academic learning resources, physical learning facility set-up, jobs roles of academy staff and service excellence training to internal academy support staff.
Competency Framework Development
As organisations grow and constantly adapt to their operating environments in order to remain competitive, a clear understanding of what skills are needed within the organisation is critical for continued success. A competency framework guides decisions around what skills are sought during the recruitment process, what skills are developed on-the-job and through training, and what skills are measured and therefore what capabilities are promoted and rewarded within the organisations reward and incentive programmes. We assist organisations identify the core capabilities that are needed to set them apart in their industry, and then align their competency framework, performance evaluation processes and learning and development functions to the key skills that are needed to be developed within the wider organisations and at different job grades, job groups and roles.
Leadership Assessment Tools
Removing as must bias and prejudice from leadership assessments should be the golden standard for most organisations. Well design leadership assessment tools do just that. Not only do they provide individuals with better balanced insights that they can use to deepen their levels of self-awareness – a key tenet of any training initiatives – but they also enable organisations to use a more scientific approach to learning and development planning and also in the talent management process. Depending on the specific individual and organisational needs, we assist organisations “hire the right tool, for the right job”. Understanding which tool to use amongst a myriad of tools available in the market, is the key to successfully using leadership assessment tools. Selecting the wrong tool can be and costly exercise when the results aimed for, are ultimately not achieved. Coaching
Today leaders and managers find themselves having to navigate very complex roles as they go about doing their jobs. The pressure and workplace dynamics that leaders face today are nothing like what was experienced decades and even years ago. From managing demanding stakeholders with conflicting needs, to leading and managing diverse teams, from pressure to keep ahead of competitors to providing an environment for employees to take care of their emotional and mental health needs, it requires leaders to make sound decisions for all stakeholders and still drive business performance. Having a sounding board that assist leaders to "think about their thinking" and create an environment where leaders can do their best thinking by processing, internalising and assimilating what is going on in the world around them, and then by probing them by asking incisive questions, coaching is proven to help make leaders more effect in their roles.
